As all of you know, GWEN is global and cares about all issues facing women, men and children abroad. Throughout these past 3 years, our co-founder Tess Cacciatore has dreamed of bringing prenatal monitors and computers to Ghana. These monitors represent the empowerment of girls and women and their maternal health. For example, girls in Ghana tend to contract reproductive issues at an early age, due to having to carry heavy jugs of water that affect the proper development of their organs.

As of yesterday, the monitors and computers we have dreamed of arrived in Ghana, but they are being held up at customs – something we did not expect. We must pay $2,000 USD to retrieve these items from customs. Can you help us fundraise to get these monitors and computers in the hands of the 3 hospitals that so desperately need them?

With your donation, we can accomplish what we set out to do, and you can join us in pursuing something bigger than ourselves that will affect the lives of so many Ghanaian girls and women.

You can support GWEN GIVING in a variety of ways, including through your estate. Including GWEN GIVING in your estate plan will not only assist you in reaching and achieving your own philanthropic and charitable giving goals, but it will also allow GWEN to continue its mission of transforming lives beyond abuse. There are many charitable planned giving options available to you. For example, you can make a planned gift to GWEN by naming GWEN as a beneficiary of your last will and testament, life insurance policy or retirement plan.

You can also name GWEN as a beneficiary of a charitable trust. Your attorney or financial advisor can advise you of the various types of charitable trusts and assist you in establishing a trust that is tailored to your personal needs.
Some of the above-mentioned planned giving strategies may have a greater tax benefit to you than others, so please consult with your attorney or financial advisor on which strategy would work best for you.

Your broker can assist you in making a gift of stock via a direct transfer to GWEN GIVING. Giving a gift of publicly traded stock that has increased in value and that you have owned for more than one year may provide greater tax benefits than giving cash. Your charitable income tax deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock and you avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock. You may also save by not incurring brokerage fees because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock.
Please feel free to have your financial advisor contact us with any questions!

Thousands of individuals are given the opportunity to designate us as the beneficiary of their payroll deduction contributions at their place of employment. This option is offered to Federal, State and Municipal employees and to many employees in the private sector as well.
Please contact us if you would like to add GWEN GIVING to your employee payroll plan.
