Are you a teen? Do you have a teen in your life – then listen to the audio from a special call on Saturday, January 26, at 9:00 am PST by GWEN Talks featuring Los Angeles Notre Dame High School seniors Tayce Taylor and Monique Candiff.
The founders and co-presidents of their school’s GWEN Club will give teen perspectives on pressing topics ranging from teen and cyber bulling, pressure around sex and sexual orientation, to drugs. They will also lead a discussion about how teens feel about the economy, war and other worldly concerns.
Dynamic examples of teens with the integrity and tenacity to follow their passions, Taylor and Candiff took it upon themselves to start the first GWEN Club. Word spread and the group continues to grow powered by the desire to help put an end to abuse and open the dialog around important topics to teens. No subject is off limits as club members tackle topics teens don’t often have a forum to discuss or talk about in public including sexual molestation, sex trafficking and runaway teens forced into prostitution.
GWEN co-founder and COO Tess Cacciatore will lead the call and provide insight from her more than 20 years working with youth as founder of the World Trust Foundation.
Cacciatore emphasizes that teen awareness is imperative to making a difference for those trapped in the cycle of abuse. “Many don’t realize that more than 300,000 children are abducted from the United States every year and forced into human and sex trafficking. It’s a multi-million dollar industry that GWEN aims to shift and heal.”
